Zhovti Vody Cross-Triathlon. Race recap

On August 16, the city of Zhovti Vody in the Dnipropetrovsk region hosted the Cross-Triathlon Cup, featuring 750 m of swimming, 20 km of mountain biking, and 5 km of trail running. The event was organized by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Zhovti Vody City Council together with the “Sport for All” center.

Men’s Race
It was Vladyslav Popovka (Kryvyi Rih) who stole the show, dominating the men’s field and securing victory in the 18–29 age group. His performance was untouchable, leaving rivals well behind. Nearly five minutes later, silver went to Dmytro Martyniuk (Kryvyi Rih), the standout of the 40–49 division. The local favorite Illia Taranenko (Zhovti Vody) took third overall, also placing among the podium finishers in the 18–24 age category.

Women’s Race
The women’s competition was won by Olha Yefremova (Dnipro), who lived up to her billing as the pre-race favorite. Just 1 minute 15 seconds behind came Valeriia Stepicheva (Kropyvnytskyi), while Ruslana Nosevych (Kryvyi Rih) secured the bronze medal.

Junior Categories
The future of Ukrainian triathlon also shined: Nazar Konoshenko (Zaporizhzhia) and Sofiia Nabyvach (Dnipro) triumphed among juniors.

Relay Battles
The relay races brought an extra layer of excitement across men’s, women’s, and mixed teams.

Men’s relay: Victory went to Running Atmosphere (Kryvyi Rih) with Yegor Chornyi, Viktor Sivinskyi, and Denis Yashin. RedHead (Dnipro) finished second with Denis Barskyi, Oleksandr Kosmynin, and Borys Krisko.

Women’s relay: The KropSwim (Kropyvnytskyi) trio of Anna Hanul, Kateryna Chorna, and Serafima Filipieva claimed gold. Mamyni Niuni (Zhovti Vody) were runners-up, followed by Running Atmosphere (Kryvyi Rih) for third.

Mixed relay: KropSwim (Kropyvnytskyi) struck gold again, with Oleksandra Vasylieva, Hanna Pieshkova, and Mykhailo Kolomiiets. RedHead (Dnipro) took silver, while Molod ZhV (Zhovti Vody), featuring Kira Bakutina, Ivan Podymov, and Andrii Taranenko, delighted the home crowd with bronze.
