On September 14, Volyn hosted the national triathlon festival Svitiaz Iron Wave v2.0, with athletes tackling the half-distance 70.3 and the Olympic course.
Men’s 70.3 From the opening strokes in the water, Oleksandr Khadyko (Capital Tri) stamped his authority on the race, leading wire to wire with the fastest splits across all disciplines. It was another commanding victory for the Kyiv powerhouse club. Behind him, Oleksandr Osypchuk (AeroStar-TeamOne) and Maksym Babych (Chameleon) secured podium spots in the overall standings.
Women’s 70.3 There was no stopping Anastasiia Ihnatkina (Happy TRI Friends), who dominated the women’s race from start to finish. Teammates Maiia Abramovych and Olha Dyvnych-Bartoshyk completed a Happy TRI Friends sweep of the podium.
Olympic Distance – Men It was a clean sweep for Capital Tri, with Anton Lytvynenko claiming gold ahead of clubmates Yurii Klym and Dmytro Stetsiuk.
Olympic Distance – Women Tanya Korol (Capital Tri) led out of the water and, despite pressure from rivals, held her advantage to the finish. Radmila Kalinina (Hedonism) and Margarita Radionova (Odesa) completed the podium.
Behind the Scenes The event was overseen by Anatolii Haletskyi of the Ukrainian Triathlon League, serving as Ukrainian Triathlon Federation technical delegate, chief referee in the transition zone, and — making his debut — race commentator.
