Somyn Triathlon Cup 2025 – Results

On August 10, the village of Somyn in the Kovel district hosted the Ukrainian Cross Triathlon Championships alongside the Volyn Regional Cross Duathlon Championships. The festival of off-road disciplines brought together elites, amateurs, juniors, and even the youngest athletes in aquathlon, spanning age groups.

Olha Sydorchuk (Kovel, Volyn) and Dmytro Stetsiuk (Rivne) were crowned champions of Ukraine in cross triathlon. Despite trailing by almost six minutes after the swim, Sydorchuk surged back with a blistering mountain bike leg and cross-country run, storming to victory with nearly a five-minute cushion over silver medalist Olha Korets (Lutsk, Volyn). Ruslana Ratushniak (Ternopil) secured bronze.

In the men’s race, Oleksandr Lyatsevych (Lutsk, Volyn) led out of the water, but Stetsiuk, just 15 seconds behind, quickly seized control on the bike and never looked back. Lyatsevych showcased his prowess in both swimming and the run to claim silver, while Taras Malnyk (LFCO, Volyn) rounded out the podium. Valentyn Cherniak and Taras Tretiak (Lutsk) completed the top five.

Among the elites, the spotlight fell on Valentyn Mariievskyi (Zaporizhzhia) and Sofiia Pryima (Lviv), who dominated their races.
