Ukrainian Triathlon Club Championship. Olympic Distance
Khmelnytskyi is once again in the spotlight of the triathlon community as the Khmelnytskyi Regional Triathlon Federation records another major national-level event!
Winners on the Olympic Distance:
Anastasia Ignatkina and Oleksandr Khadyko emerged victorious in the Olympic distance race. Representing the Happy TRI Friends club, Anastasia swam at a pace of 1 minute 43 seconds, starting the cycling leg as the leader. Anastasia Derevlova, the next participant, was less than half a minute behind in the water and continued the chase in the second leg. However, the KIT Triathlon Team’s representative couldn’t catch the leader. Anastasia Ignatkina began the running leg with more than a five-minute lead. She crossed the finish line second, spending 10 minutes longer on the distance than the race winner. Third place went to Olga Dyvnych-Bartoszyk from the Happy TRI Friends club.
Men’s Competition:
In the water, Pavlo Perebyinis (Chameleon) dominated with a 20-second lead over the chasing group. Anton Lytvynenko, Volodymyr Sydorenko, Vitalii Volynets, Oleksandr Khadyko, Bohdan Polovynko, and Mykyta Hrybanov reduced the gap to 15 seconds in the transition zone.
The leader was caught during the cycling leg and lost ground, along with Volodymyr Sydorenko, while Dmytro Stetsiuk joined the group. Representing the Triathlon Academy Rivne club, Dmytro fell behind by two minutes in the water but managed to catch up with the leading group. Thus, six leaders arrived at the second transition zone. There was no coordinated effort among the chasers, and everyone who could have caught up with the leaders during the running leg competed individually. The first chaser was three and a half minutes behind the first group, which decided the absolute standings.
In the run, Oleksandr Khadyko (CapitalTri) had no equals. Anton Lytvynenko (CapitalTri) took second place, and Dmytro Stetsiuk became the bronze medalist. Vitalii Volynets took an honorable fourth place. All four completed the 10k run at a pace of under four minutes per kilometer. Maksym Babych from the Chameleon club took fifth place. He swam in the second ten, showed the second-best result on the bike, and fifth in the final leg. Mykyta Hrybanov and Bohdan Polovynko finished sixth and seventh, respectively, both representing the KIT Triathlon Team.
