Sopachiv Super Sprint Triathlon: A Spectacle of Determination and Speed
The fourth Sopachiv Super Sprint Triathlon has taken place! This year’s race saw a significant shift as the annual male favorites were absent, but among the women, Zhanna Badalis once again graced the podium.
Nearly fifty participants tackled the super sprint distance. In 2023, Dmytro Stetsiuk set a new course record in a fierce battle with Mykyta Nahornyi, finishing in 32 minutes and 15 seconds. Among the women, Iryna Domanova set the best time of 42 minutes and 46 seconds in 2023.
This year, Oleksandr Lyatsevych from Lutsk claimed victory, completing the course in 33 minutes and 15 seconds. Nazar Patiychuk from Varash (Amber Tri Sports) finished two minutes and 10 seconds later to take second place, while Anton Hutsalo from Varash (PAEC team) secured the bronze in the overall standings.
Among the women, Anna Shchavinska set a new race record. The representative from Varash finished the course 1 minute and 19 seconds faster than Iryna Domanova did in 2023, with a new record time of 41 minutes and 27 seconds. Joining her on the podium were Zhanna Badalis from Dubno (HappyRun) and Daria Lytovchenko from Kremenchuk (Amber Tri Sports). Zhanna, competing in the 40-49 age group, consistently holds her own in the overall standings whenever she races for HappyRun.
Serhii Tserolchuk finished closest to the leaders in the men’s overall standings, with Leonid Nesterchuk and Oleh Berdylo joining him on the podium.
In the men’s 40-49 category, Maksym Vlasenko emerged as the leader, with Andrii Kutsko and Anatolii Yaruta as runners-up.
Oksana Androshchuk and Anton Maievskyi won in the 30-39 age group, with Hryhorii Zeleniuk and Andrii Odynokyi among the men, and Yuliia Fedina and Larysa Melnyk among the women, taking the other podium spots.
In the youngest age category, Boris Patiychuk and Yuliia Tkach claimed victory, with Vitalii Pavliuk and Vladyslav Berdylo as the runners-up. Additionally, a special category for military personnel saw Vadym Zhuk winning, with Oleksandr Kysilchuk and Serhii Polishchuk finishing as runners-up.
In the relay event, among six teams, ATOМ, consisting of Taras Kryvko, Ruslan Chudinov, and Yevhenii Dorofeev, took first place. The Amberivtsi team (Oleksandr Shulypa, Oleksandr Holovash, and Iryna Marynina) finished second, while the Crazy Snails (Andrii Skokliuk and Taras Palii) secured third.
