Podilski VOVKY Duathlon 2024

On October 6, the Khmelnytskyi Regional Triathlon Federation hosted a charity duathlon organized by the Podilski VOVKY Triathlon Club, held on a sprint course. This event added to the federation’s busy calendar, which earlier this year included the Khmelnytskyi Regional Open Triathlon Championship (Aquathlon) on February 25, the Podillia Duathlon Cup on May 12, and the Ukrainian Club Triathlon Championship on an Olympic distance on June 9.

The race saw Viktor Lazanyuk set the early pace, entering the transition zone with nearly a minute’s lead over his nearest chasers, Danyil Timachov and Mykhailo Yanytskyi. Maksym Vlasenko followed in fourth, trailing the pack by 20 seconds. During the cycling leg, the pursuers closed the gap, with Timachov and Yanytskyi arriving first at the transition. Timachov emerged victorious in the sprint to the finish, claiming the title of Podilski VOVKY Duathlon champion. Yanytskyi, who participated non-competitively, added excitement to the race. Lazanyuk, representing Triton, secured third with a solid time advantage over the rest of the field, making him the only competitor able to challenge the Podilski VOVKY athletes. Ruslan Boiko took the bronze in the official standings, followed closely by Oleksandr Verbitskyi, Yurii Poliichuk, and Andrii Lebid. Maksym Vlasenko crossed in seventh place, while Volodymyr Ryazak, who had recently competed in Ironman 70.3 Italy Emilia Romagna, rounded out the top eight.

In the women’s race, the competition was equally intense among the three participants. Tetiana Hromova led the way early on the run, but Olga Lysak and Daria Kisliak started closing in during the cycling segment. Ultimately, the final run proved decisive, with Hromova emerging as the Podilski VOVKY Duathlon champion. Lysak and Kisliak battled it out for the remaining podium spots, with all three women proudly representing the Podilski VOVKY Club.

In the 5-kilometer run, Oleksandr Yuryk and Anna Pihol claimed victory, while Myroslava Havryliuk finished as the silver medalist. Full results are available at the provided link. (зробити посиланням )
