KYIVMAN. Results
8 kilometers in the water, 350 kilometers of grueling cycling, and 52 kilometers of running non-stop – this is what nine brave participants faced. Among them was the 2021 champion, Mykhailo Boiko, starting his third KYIVMAN! Oleg Puzanov, the absolute finisher of all four previous events, was back again. Joining them were past finishers Hnat Zabrodskyy, Andrii Magalich, Denys Kulikalov, and Eugene Zubkov, as well as newcomers selected by the commission to compete “solo” – Mykhailo Ivanchenko and Evgeniia Lavrinets. Danylo Sapunov also joined the race, competing out of the contest.
Denys Kulikalov and Mykhailo Boiko emerged from the water together, maintaining a pace of 1 minute and 58 seconds per 100 meters, with a total swim time of 2 hours and 38 minutes. Hnat Zabrodskyy followed 22 minutes later, and Oleg Puzanov completed the first stage 6 minutes after Hnat.
Denys took a 4-minute transition break, allowing Mykhailo to start the cycling marathon in the lead. With 350 kilometers and ten hours of cycling ahead, the race was on.
Denys Kulikalov maintained an average speed of 34 km/h, completing the cycling segment in 10 hours, 22 minutes, and 33 seconds. Mykhailo averaged 33.5 km/h, trailing the leader by 10 minutes. Hnat Zabrodskyy, with an average speed of 33.2 km/h, was third into the transition zone.
In the ultramarathon, spanning 52 kilometers, Hnat caught up with Mykhailo to take second place. Zabrodskyy’s pace of 5 minutes and 51 seconds per kilometer brought him closer to the leader, who was running at 6 minutes and 15 seconds per kilometer. This was enough for victory. Denys Kulikalov became the first KYIVMAN champion to conquer 8 kilometers of swimming, 350 kilometers of cycling, and 52 kilometers of running non-stop! His total time was 18 hours, 38 minutes, and 55 seconds. Hnat Zabrodskyy finished second, with Mykhailo Boiko completing the race an hour later, running at a pace of 7 minutes and 35 seconds per kilometer.
The battle for fourth place was equally intense. Oleg Puzanov, chasing Hnat Zabrodskyy in the water, was caught by Andrii Magalich during the cycling leg, who averaged 29.4 km/h. Unfortunately, Andrii had to withdraw at the 26th kilometer of the run. Mykhailo Ivanchenko, who closed the men’s group, ran up to the 39th kilometer before ending his race. Oleg Puzanov continued and posted the fastest time in the running ultramarathon, completing it in five hours at a pace of 5 minutes and 35 seconds per kilometer. The only solo woman, Evgeniia Lavrinets, completed the swimming stage but withdrew during the cycling segment.
Eight teams participated in the relay. Leading in the swimming stage were DATAGROUP & VOLIA and Amatori, with a pace of 1 minute and 23 seconds per 100 meters. Amatori stayed ahead during the cycling marathon, with CAPITALTRI MAN joining the leaders. However, Amatori fell back during the running marathon, and CAPITALTRI MAN crossed the finish line first. The winning team consisted of Yevhen Ivanov, Anton Lytvynenko, Oksana Steshenko, and Andriy Pechenyi, with a total time of 15 hours, 41 minutes, and 29 seconds.
The best marathon pace of 3 minutes and 59 seconds per kilometer was demonstrated by VICTORY TEAM, consisting of Petro Pavlenko, Sergiy Blakita, Yurii Malinovskyi, and Viktor Romaniuk, who claimed second place. Third place went to DATAGROUP & VOLIA – Polina Yuzofenko, Mykhailo Shelemba, Denys Batiukhov, and Denys Mohylnyi, who returned to the leaders after 52 kilometers of running.
The honorable fourth place was taken by Krasuni i Anton, consisting of Hanna Pasichnyk, Olha Yashchuk, Natalia Kovalevska, and Anton Koriazhmin.
