The International Olympic Committee plans to hold the Olympic Games in eSports. The world triathlon already holds such competitions, and for the first time such competitions were held among Age-Group in Ukraine.
In 2018, the Cybersports Forum was held in Lausanne. And already at the 141st session of the IOC in October 2023, the president of the IOC announced plans to organize the first eSports Olympic Games.
In triathlon, the first competitions using interactive simulators were offered at the Arena Games competition series, which in 2022-2023 entered the World Triathlon calendar. And in June 2023, triathlon was included in the Olympic Esports Week program.
Already this year, the first E-Triathlon World Championship was held. The London Swimming Center has installed exercise bikes and treadmills connected to Zwift.
In Ukraine, interactive technologies were used at aquabike competitions. The competition took place in the pool, where exercise bikes with the Rouvy simulator were installed. Thus, the swimming and cycling stage passed without interruption. This technology was used at Amber Indoor Triathlon and Kovel Indoor Triathlon, but all three triathlon disciplines were held with a break.
