As usual, all race slots were sold out well before the registration deadline.
In the race, which included a 1-kilometer swim and a 5-kilometer run, 101 male and 29 female athletes competed. Kyiv natives Anton Lytvynenko (CapitalTri) and Yana Vasianovych (KIT Triathlon Team) emerged as the Ukrainian amateur champions in aquathlon. Yana’s performance was particularly remarkable, not only surprising her competitors but also making a significant mark on the elite national championship held concurrently on Obolon Island. Yana completed the swim in a pace of 1 minute 37 seconds per 100 meters and ran at 3 minutes 43 seconds per kilometer, finishing with a total time of 36 minutes and 23 seconds, placing her third among the elites.
Anton Lytvynenko, a podium favorite this season, consistently ranks high in every event. In the aquathlon, he finished first among 101 participants, with Volynets Vitaliy trailing by just 11 seconds. The representative from Ternopil, who lost only 7 seconds in the swim but was delayed in the transition zone, closed the gap by 2 seconds per kilometer during the run. Both athletes kept the suspense high until the final meters of the race.
Nearly a minute after the winner, Oleksandr Osypchuk from Bobrytsia, representing Aerostar Team-One, secured a podium spot in the overall standings, narrowly edging out CapitalTri’s Yevhen Ivanov. Both lost time in the swim and transition zones but had comparable running times to the top two finishers.
Yana Vasianovych was in a league of her own. The runners-up, Kyiv’s Anastasiya Hetman and Yulia Tretiakova, finished over four minutes behind her. Fast through the transition zone, Yelizaveta Dyachenko competed for third place with Yulia Tretiakova, ultimately missing the podium by just 9 seconds.
In the age group categories, the oldest participant was Oleksandr Pyvovar, who triumphed among men 60+. Notable participants included Bren Reynolds, who represented Ukraine at the World Triathlon Championships, and Vitaliy Petrusenko, who finished third. In the 50-59 age group, Kyiv’s Oleksandr Bilous and Olena Trofymenko claimed victory, while Dmytro Pylypenko and Oleh Berdylo were the runners-up.
For the 40-49 age group, the podium was crowded. Yulia Bilous and Volodymyr Kreposniak emerged victorious, with Dmytro Chemodanov and Yuriy Sadovskyi, and among women, Natalia Musulega and Olha Nemchenko taking the other podium spots.
In the 30-39 age group, the triathletes who made it to the top ten in the overall standings also secured podium places. Yevhen Ivanov and Anastasiya Ignatkina were the group winners, with Pavlo Perebyinis and Vitaliy Koval, and among women, Tanya Korol and Nadia Somin taking the other podium spots.
In the youngest age group (20-29), Yelizaveta Dyachenko and Ivan Gryshyn emerged victorious. Anna Botyukh and Anastasia Derevlyova, along with Yevheniy Datsiuk and Stanislav Myakota, rounded out the podium.
